Grants

Palomares Elementary received several grants to support instruction and efforts to restore the Palomares Creek. We thank the following sponsors:

This Demonstration Site, located at Palomares School, consists of a quarter mile stretch of winding Palomares Creek. An old "Creek Walk" trail has been established by the school and is used for riparian education to both Palomares School children and other grade school children throughout the county. The Stream Reach project will inventory soil, water, air, plant and animal resources within the stream reach and develop a comprehensive restoration plan for specific sections and habitats within this reach. This work will ultimately be used by the school children to formalize their trail to better illustrate the natural resources of the site.  For more information on the annual Watershed Festival and ongoing learning sessions the children partake in please contact us.
