Our goal is to provide the inspiration for life-long learning which implements positive, effective approaches to education that build a solid academic foundation and promotes self-esteem and interpersonal skills. We celebrate learning as an engaging and dynamic experience. We encourage parents to actively participate in their child/children's elementary school experience.

Palomares School At-A-Glance

Nestled in a quiet canyon surrounded by wooded hills, with a creek flowing at its edge, Palomares School is dedicated to challenging students to rigorous standards and providing a school climate where students can, and do achieve their fullest potential in a unique learning environment. Our vision of striving for excellence, instilling a commitment to be lifelong learners, developing an appreciation for diversity, and becoming responsible citizens is embraced by staff, students, parents, and our local community.

The riparian areas that surround the school, and the Palomares Creek Restoration Project have become essential components in the school's enriched science-based curriculum. Students work alongside biologists and engineers as they apply classroom concepts in the outdoor learning laboratory, collecting, recording, and organizing data, making computations, and drawing science-based conclusions from their research.

Palomares School is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Castro Valley, and is easily accessible from communities along the I-580 corridor. The majority of students travel to Palomares School by choice from throughout CVUSD and neighboring school districts.
