We're UniquePalomares School opened in 1868 as a one-room school house. The school was rebuilt in 1955. It is nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by tree covered hills, adjoining a creek, with three habitat zones on the school grounds. The fabulous outdoors provides an excellent learning laboratory for our students. We currently have six classrooms, covering Kindergarten through Grade 5. We added a new library/multipurpose room and administrative office in 1998, as well as a new science center in 2003. In the Fall of 2005, the school got a new lunch/multi-purpose room as part of an extensive renovation funded by the 1998 Bond Measure. Palomares is a unique public school in a beautiful outdoor setting. In 2004, Palomares School was recognized as a California Distinguished School. In 2005, Palomares was named a Blue Ribbon School, a national program under the No Child Left Behind Act. This is quite an honor for our little school!
